Its new Years Eve...

New Year is Around the corner...
but.. what's new.. cant figure out really...
things are same the way they were long ago...
therez no peace in my country...with maosits still running after power... and.. i cant really figure out what politicians really want in the country...

Democracy seems to me... the biggest block in the road of development.. be it be for a small country Nepal.. or .. for a massive India.....

Democrary has really failed.. considering... that to remain in power the leaders are not able to show any leadership skill... and... they just.. end up doing nothing great...

bringing something which is there in some other country is not development....developing something in your country and sending it to others is.. real development...

Democracy has problems.. in having leaders having...Vision...
Be it be. india or. Nepal.. its the same problem everywher..
u cant.. fight.. and.. fight.. to have nothing.. u will end up in mess.. and chaos.. having nothig..

the story is still the same... if we move to other side..

rich are becoming more richer..
poor.. more poorer..
and. middle class is happy considering they are none of the above two...

Anyways.. New Yearz around the corner..

time for party.. time for a change they say...
well.. i might sound very different... but. its. time to ponder and set goals and targets and missions and visions....
not only for individuals.. not only for we all.. but for all the powerful men. sitting at the top and. ruling the country as well..

someone... at the top needs to come out of their comfortable zone.. and fight...
fight us what is needed..
its.. not a fight like we have in wars..
its more of a fight with the morals we are carrying..

Corruption and want of self development is leading us nowhere...
we still are running after.... basics in life.. where people.. around the world had long ago..

We have to keep country first.. we have to keep development first..
else. who knows.. our next generation would still be writing. the same stuff. on countries..

I dont want to site a normal example of where Japan and China has reached.. but.. i feel.. we really Lag somewhere..

Its true that.. the other side of the grass always looks greener....
we may argue that we are country like none other....
with everything we have.. and we want. is in special flavour which we like.... but.... then we tend to forget that.. there are people.. who are.. unable to think... and. unable. to eat and what not.. they are. deprived of...every basic amenities.. of life..

But still... we will party... we wil enjoy... as we want a change.. meanwhile.. things will remain the same...
even i dont have courage to go and act and change things..
i know. its easier than done.
infact. its. the easiest job to sit and talk and point things wrong.. but still....

hope. that.. the dawn of the new yr brings new lights to life of all...

Economics....India...

I am .. back.. with economics....

they say...its a science of allocating resources to wants where the wants are unlimited and the resources are limited....

hmm... right from the days of say any period... take any timeline... this is what has been the case...

u see any politician... any economist.... he has just become famous in granting his theories in allocating resources to countrymen wants.... At times he has been successful....at times..... failures have made them popular.....

Economists have been many in past.. most known have been Smith, Keynes and Hayek...

They have all come out with theories which have matched with reality for decades.... and there has been huge economic crises, whenever flaw has come to their theories.... be it be the case of inflation and unemployment both going high... or be it be the case where free markets greediness have created huge imbalances in the economies.....

These theories have just given governments and country rulers' directions about how to run a country... but what about development of a country.. what about implementation of plans... what about uplifting people from lower level or lower life style to match higher life style..or at least upgrading their own lifestyle..

Talking about India, when is it going to happen that... there would be development at the grassroot level..... They ( Keynes) say.. that.. government spending is required to come out with recession... increment in infrastructure and public spending is required... but what about implementation... and what about creating policies to implement...

Sometime.. in my life. i studied.. that .." Its all about Execution"... and.. Execution it is.. what is needed to come out and say.. that the policies have been implemented..

India needs an executer.. I can sit and plan and plan.. but to check that the health policies I am making.. the Employment schemes I am creating is being implemented or not.. needs harder work than to plan and say that I planned...

India is in deep need of.. Education, health and infrastructure development.. infact.. implementation of ideas and projects in these areas... People are dying just because of poor health facilities.... and people are being deprived of education... leading to huge hatred-ness in the mind of the people.. which is then.. seeing upcoming of terrorists and naxals.... which then. go on to destroy the existing infrastructure.. just to revolt.. and create an attention...

This is a total trap...

U need to target the root....

3 things.. would lead to a successful india...

Implement... Quality education to all..

Road Trasnport.. development..

and. Infrastructure.. ( covering.. health.. drinking water.. etc)

This will lead to.. curtail lots of upcming problems...

Another important crises.. India needs to come up to cover tomorrows crises is Agriculture..

just.. wait. for the another post for it...

I am unable to recall.. when did it... all start...
It was probably a Sunday evening.. while I was coming out of a Restaurant... the occasion was
me getting admitted.. to an MBA college....
this was probably the first time.. me throwing a party open for most of my LMC batchmates...
I was walking back.... thinking as if I have conquered the world..... as if.. nothing else mattered more in Life....
The feeling.. was awesome... but then... it all started happening.. to me..

Thanks to Nepalese King Birendra and the Health minster of Nepal for not having a quality hospital in Birganj ( my native place) that i was born in a small place called Raxaul, India. I was born in India, can still can myself indian ( according to laws in India) though I would always love to be called as a Nepali....

I just mentioned this above.. to tell that. the thinking.. which is going to come now is not because of me being a Nepalese or Indian... its just the thinking that needs to be groomed and taken care of..

I was on my way.. back when I saw people lying on the way...and having a sound sleep which most of us would miss even if sleeping on Kurlon or so ( forgive me for the wrong brand of bed).
I mean.. I would spend laks of Rupees on me... just for gaining an educational degree.. which would just be a value addition to me... so that... I become a better person in life.. and live my life happily.. But... am I really happy.... I dont... know...Its a fact of life.. that....Man is Selfish.... the more u give.. the more he wants... we have lots of cases in pasts.. where people having lost their families. for greed ( the Midas-Touch story).

I dont know.. that what worth would be me spending this much of fortune on my development which could have been a a fortune for many..... I am a lucky guy... surely I am .. to be born in a family which has always fulfilled what I have desired... but.. i seriously dont know what mistakes did those people commit who are starved to death everyday... who sleep under the open sky counting stars everyday.. with no other options ( which I desire but cant do), who die due to lack of basic amenities everyday... and so on...

But.. I am enjoying.. my life.. living life with all luxary but still cursing and crying for small things which I dont have... I guess.. this is the story of everyone.. who can read this....

I know.. many may have thought all this... The only thing.. we have common.. in us.. the lack of courage.... the courage to rise and.... dont know what to do...
I dont know what to do... to overcome these inequalities.. to overcome this injustice....I am just trying to be a woman under a veil.... and I am afraid.. to take it out....

Off the topic

Here I sit after a long time.. to write again.... dont know how many times in past 3-4 months i have thought of writing about smthing.. but.. everytime u think u need to ecxcute.. too.. this is the way to live life.. this is the way to move ahead.. this is where we all are lagging today.. its.. all about execution..

We have ideas.. big or small.. it doesnot matter really a lot.. all that it matters.. is the execution of the idea... I can think of climbing.. Mount Everest.. can think of a world tour.. can even think of.. reaching to moon.. but unless I move ahead with a plan to achieve.. and unless I execute what I plan.. its. all useless.. to think... Dont know why do so many writers tell us to think....

I have heard lots of people saying.. that we should think.. but the art of thinking.. starts.. when u start executing.... hmm....

Lets take a very simple example on this.. India.. today.. is on the land of oppertunities..
I mean.. the time has come.. the era has come.. where the world can be.. ours..
It was UK in 80s..... US in 90s.. and.. who knows.. my fore fore grandsons.. would say.. it was India in 00s.. or.. 2000s... :)

The problem with India has been its.......i dont know... frankly speaking.. u cant.. have a single problem... Infact.. life is not about problems.. life. is. all about.. linking.. a problem with a problem.. and. with a problem.. which then.. becomes.. a real problem !!.. and.. this is when.. we identify that there is a problem.... So. its all about not being able to execute lots of plans..
There has be a lot of change to be brought in the system... I mean.. i agree.. with mahatma gandhi's quote that.. to change the system.. be the change in the system... but u cant.. really progress.. with selfishness around...

I mean.. I dont understand.. why dint India progress.. when Japan China and India all started progressing at the same time... ( I mean.. US bombed Japan at the same time.. when India got Independence.. and similar sort of thing.. happened with china too i guess)..

We were too complacent of change? or were we too afraid to change.. ? I dont really know..

I today feel.. that..the world is moving.. in a great pace.. its reallly hard to catch on.. unless. u are.. really ready to do it..
like thomas friedman said.... he only realised when he was busy with his work day and night.. that the ten forces have really changed the world.. (if u are not aware of this.. just google.. the ten forces along with "The World is Flat")

Hmm.. where was I.. i was.talking about. the Time.. for India..
Ya.. U see.. newspapers.. and. the world around... World. is talking about.. Asia.. and.. to be more specific. its. talking about. India and China.
The.. GDP and world production of these two most populas countries is increasing day by day.. In a way.. keeping.. $2 Tn of reserves ( China )along with $2.6Bn in India , I think China. is now capable.. of controlling.. the economy of US.... It has already controlled the production of it.. no doubt that.. the.. Lion is fighting for its existence... trying all methods.. in and out of book.. to maintain the dominance.... but the time is changing.. . things are chainging..

Its our time now.. We need.. to get on now.. make LIFE... make Companies.... rather than work for companies who dominate us today.. ( I am surely talking about MNCs.. )
I hope you are understanding what I mean to say.... I mean....the future.. will be ours.. Every dog has a day.. our days are coming too... SO..its all about being proactive..and realizing our potential.. buind things.. which would not only act as a nation building.. thing. but would provide base for generations to come.. ( i dont mean.. a single thing to it.. )

Nepal, a landlocked country, full of talent, resources, and manpower but lacks technology which is the prime requirement of the country. The country which was once the only Hindu kingdom of the world has just come out from a drastic situation. Its the country, which saw a long civil war of 12 years with more than 12000 of our countrymen loosing their life, courtesy of which we have been able to see the dawn of democracy once again.

Nepal ranks 2nd in maximum inland water, though it occupies only 147,181 sq.kms of area, has the potential of producing hydro electricity for capacity enough for fulfilling the requirements of Nepal and most of the India's North states, but the irony of the fact would be, we still may one of the maximum tariffs for the use of the basic requirement electricity. She doesn't need more water, but needs technological investment from people within the country and also from countries which has always been there for its help such as India, China, US, Japan and lots more.

It has colleges but enough is more needed for the young buds to show their talents. It has awesome tourist places like Pokhara, Kathmandu with all the world class facilities but needs more and more international tourists to visit. It has great resources in minerals, herbs and shurbs needed for medical factory requirements as well as raw materials requirement for development of lots of basic needs. It has the capacity to produce enough of Wheat, Maize and Rice. It would not be false to say that being a landloacked country Nepal is a world in itself, but it needs to explore places.

In the 21st century where world is kissing zenith, we cant remain at nadir being complacent and thinking that its not our duty to work for our country.

At the time where the whole world is facing liquidity crunch which banks and financial institutions going bankrupt just because of the bad investments done, investing in the country projects which would not only lead to a huge return but will also help country to achieve its potential. Its the time now, I say its the time, as there is requirement of it with and the politicians as well as the dignitaries of civil society inviting all the organizations such as UN, IMF, World Bank as well as the countries which i named before.

Come to our land. We are the land of Gautam Buddha, we are the land of Mount Everest. We dont ask for donations, we ask investments which not only will benefit us but will also give substantial return to you.

Reminiscences of values I had in Nepal

I go through several articles on Nepal, found in National and International Media. The criticism you read from the writers is unbearable. I remember a small chapter i read once when i was in junior classes written in Nepali language titled " ke Nepal sano cha ??? " meaning ( Is Nepal Small ? ) .

It was very hard to understand the literature part magnificently articulated by one of the greatest writer of Nepal of all times, Laxmi Prasad Devkota. Today when I remember the chapter, I feel that why is it that my country, although being one of the smallest, is undergoing a situtation where it has been very hard by the administrators of my country to handle. I see Bhutan,Maldives and other small countries which has no such problems and then i see India, US, Australia, etc which are very large in size in comparison to my country but still places my country no where when I compare with them.

I am not trying to compare Nepal with other countries. Western world lies far ahead when you compare. Nepal ranks 142nd in HDI ( Human Development Index ). Many of you may not realise what it reflects. Google it once. But name itself suggests that what is the position of the country.

"sundar, shanta Nepal" is one line I remember when read all about Nepal. Politicians along with the want of Power have killed the Nation. Its suffering from losses of its son, daughter, property, as well as its reputation or I should say dignity. There has been no development work in the country for the past 10 years and even if some has happened, iit has not engulfed the nations demand. People are deprived of basic necessities of life. I heard from travellers in the country that "this country is a world in itself. We have this, we have that......" but now when I try to figure out we have what, I get to know only about slums in terai (plain) region, villages in hilly regions. There was a time when we saw unprecedented growth in the per capita income and the country touched the level of being a 2nd world country, but the recent activities has not helped the country to overcome this tag and has futher drenched the country with the tag of " Third World Country."

Power makes man blind is proved correct. People in power have manipulated the government according to their needs and power has not come with position but has come with the plenty of ammunition. Sometimes an impulse takesover the mind to become the next politician and re-structure everything to make the country the next Best country in the world, but then the fear of failure, the fear of life from those corrupted politicians, the fear of lack of support from family as well as people overtakes the mind again and tells that who are you to do something and probably what can you do with no political recognition in the country. And thus settles all the thoughts and send it to the corner of the brain from where it is hard to recollect everytime.

I dont know what do others think about it.

I wonder that what does a politician needs. He gets all the money he wants, all power he wants, but still is not worried about people. The same people who give them power. They have money enough to sustain their fore-children but still the want of more and more makes them blind. No one dies hungry in this world if you will to earn. Even a rickshaw puller earns money for his family needs.

Education is the power one need to develop things. The utilization of funds, the utilization of manpower comes all alive with education. There is a need of improvement in the education system. The rich or poor, the village boy, or a slum area boy, all needs to be educated. WIth education we wont have those politicians. We wont have a system where we would loot others for bettering our position. There is a need of drastic change in the system. There is a need of creating a feeling of satisfation in the mind of general public that we live in a place which can be called "sundar, shanta Nepal."

There are lots of other measures, we know, should be taken. Am not going to the details of those. Am just requesting the poeple in Power to realise the importance of fundamental needs of common people and look forward to achieve those than ammasing wealth and power.

I know its easier to sit and comment on what is happening. But this thing really annoys me when I see other prospering and making their life better and we going back and back in time.
